The camps can be reached by a 3.3 mile hike from Avalanche Field trailhead on the Roaring Brook Road within Baxter State Park.

Hike along the shores of lakes and picnic with the backdrop of the great Mount Katahdin in Backcountry sites are scattered through the Park, allowing individual parties the opportunity to camp in isolated and primitive areas.
